Share Your Cutting-Edge Research at CIO 2024!

The Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO) invites you to submit an abstract for consideration to be presented as an electronic poster at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, September 20–22, 2024. CIO covers a wide range of topics related to innovative and practical IO education. This is your opportunity to share your cutting-edge research with the best-in-class audience of experts in the field.  

ePosters will be on display during all exhibit hall hours on multimedia screens in the poster area of the exhibit hall. ePosters will also be available to view in the mobile app. 

Key Dates for Submissions 

• Submission Site Opens: April 1, 2024
• Submission Site Closes: May 29, 2024 at 11:59 PM EST
• Acceptance/Wait List Notifications: June 21, 2024 
• Acceptance/Withdrawal Deadline: July 8, 2024 
• ePoster Upload Deadline: September 2, 2024

All submitted abstracts will undergo a blinded peer review and are reviewed for quality of research, educational or scientific content, logical presentation, and impact on healthcare. 

Abstracts submitted by May 29, 2024 may be eligible for the following:

• ePoster Display
• Oral Presentation
• Best Poster Award
• Young Investigator Award
• Online publication in Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR)
• Tuition Support (50% discount for first author, 25% discount for second authors)
• Online publication on IO Learning, the official news source of CIO

Abstracts submitted during the last chance submission period from July 15–July 29 will be eligible for all of the above except online publication. 

All abstracts must be submitted electronically via the official CIO abstract submission website. Paper or email abstract submissions will not be accepted.

• Individuals may submit an unlimited number of abstracts, each up to 2,500 characters 

• Your abstract must be submitted by July 29, 2024 @ 11:59 PM EST. If accepted, you will upload your ePoster PDF by September 2, 2024

• Submitters must adhere to the CIO Style Guidelines. View the Submission Information & Style Guidelines 

• All submitted abstracts will undergo a blinded peer review and are reviewed for quality of research, educational or scientific content, logical presentation, and impact on healthcare 

• Confirmed ePoster presenters must register to attend CIO. If your abstract is accepted, you will be provided with a discount code to register online. The discount is good for new registrations only

• Authors/submitters agree to upload the abstract as an ePoster if it is selected for inclusion at the CIO annual meeting 

• ePosters can be uploaded as a PDF. Traditional printed posters will not be accepted 

Notifications of abstract acceptance or rejection will be emailed to the abstract submitter per timelines outlined above. The submitter is responsible for relaying all correspondence to abstract authors.  

Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be responsible for travel and accommodations, but will be eligible for a registration discount. Abstract authors who are accepted for poster display will receive a 50% discount on registration for the first author and 25% off for the second author.  

Any details concerning registration discounts will be provided in the acceptance notification. If accepted, authors must notify CIO of their participation by emailing Elizabeth Ketter at eketter@hmpglobal.com and registering for the meeting.  

Please note: CIO will not hold a spot for ePosters until notified of the author’s participation.
